John Gary Driscoll (April 18, 1946 – June 8, 1987) was an American R&B-style rock drummer who performed in a number of successful bands from the 1960s until his unsolved murder.[1]

He first entered the music scene when he joined Ronnie Dio and the Prophets in June 1965, fronted by Ronnie James Dio. The band transformed into the Electric Elves, the Elves, and finally Elf in 1969, releasing a few singles along the way.[2][3][4] They were eventually discovered by Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover who went on to produce all three of Elf's studio albums.

Elf disbanded in 1975 when Gary Driscoll,[3] Ronnie James Dio,[3] Micky Lee Soule (Elf's keyboardist),[3] and Craig Gruber (their bassist)[3] were recruited by Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore to form the rock band Rainbow.[3]

Driscoll was dismissed from Rainbow shortly after their debut album, entitled Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, was recorded.[5] It is speculated that firing Gary was simply due to his R&B style of drumming, which did not sit well with Blackmore.[6][7] Driscoll was later replaced with British hard rocker, Cozy Powell.[5]

btw alex hirsch said there was a cut tbob interaction where bill enters stan’s dream of being in high school where ford is stuck in the broken perpetual motion machine. bill disguised himself as a teacher and when he tries to “help” stan, stan asks why a teacher is being nice to him and then bill reveals it was a trick and stan asks why he lied before and basically stan is too paranoid to trick. i love you stanley pines the broken man that you are.

"The Hissing Wastes is the WORST" the Hissing Wastes is great if you bring Blackwall because he proceeds to tell you about the time he got lost in a desert storm, he and his men got drunk and high, and then they woke up naked and had to fight a bunch of ghasts. Most riveting story in the entire game. Solas and Varric wish they had stories to tell like this.

Today’s Exhibit of the Day? It’s one of the largest amethyst geodes in the world! At about 13 ft (4 m) tall and 9,000 lbs (4,082 kg), this giant weighs about as much as three compact cars. It was born when molten magma poured from the Earth’s crust some 135 million years ago. While its dazzling purple crystals might catch your eye, this geode would have originally been composed of colorless quartz—its distinctive amethyst color deriving from millenia of natural radiation, heat, and trace contaminants. 

You can spot this geode, and other sparkly specimens, in the Museum’s Mignone Halls of Gems and Minerals. We're open daily from 10 am-5:30 pm! Plan your visit.
